Oxfam Japan will hold the Oxfam Trailwalker from July 11th to 12th in Tohoku. For the past 8 years, the Oxfam Trailwalker has taken place in the area surrounding Mt. Fuji, and this year, the new venue will be Mt. Adatara, one of the top 100 mountains in Japan.
Take the challenge of walking 50km in 24 hours with 3 other teammates. You will see beautiful panoramic scenery from the 1699 metre summit of Mt. Adatara. Through the wonderful nature and by meeting local people, you will experience the real Fukushima.
Oxfam Japan has continuously supported the affected area since March 2011. It has been 4 years and Tohoku’s reconstruction is facing a new situation to move on. Our current reconstruction projects will finish by the end of March 2015. However, we see survivors create projects for their future in difficult situations, and we would like to continue to support projects in Tohoku.
Oxfam Japan has been working on global issues in agriculture and climate change in the context of developing countries. We believe that these common issues are in Japan as well. There are a number of people working effortlessly on the issues of food, agriculture and energy after the nuclear disaster in Fukushima. In solidarity, Oxfam Japan works in partnerships with Japanese NGOs to start activities rooted in these local communities. The first step is Oxfam Trailwalker Tohoku 2015.
Your participation in Oxfam Trailwalker Tohoku 2015 will help expand information about Tohoku’s reconstruction and international cooperation to your colleagues, friends and family. We look forward to creating new Oxfam Traiｌwaker Tohoku 2015 with you.

These two events that Oxfam Japan had held in the past 8 years will NOT be held in 2015.
We have had to reconsider the existing trail course due to the closure/repair of some checkpoints, and improve the event itself. In 2016 we will try to hold the event place in two areas, Tohoku and Fuji. We greatly appreciate the support and help given by all the people involved in the Oxfam Trailwalker, and hope you understand the big change and late notice of Oxfam Trailwalker.
